You’re not sure whether to go Part 61 or Part 141
For most people, the shortest path to getting paid to fly (vs paying to fly) is to earn a CFI and become a flight instructor.

Instrument (or simulated instrument) hours are different from visual flight hours, multi-engine hours are different from single engine hours, turbine time is different from piston engine time, night hours are different from day hours, etc.
